Milton Nascimento - Discografia

Milton Nascimento (1942) é um cantor e compositor brasileiro, um dos maiores nomes da Música Popular Brasileira.

Milton Nascimento nasceu no Rio de Janeiro, no dia 26 de outubro de 1942. Ainda criança já mostrava interesse pela música. Com dois anos ficou órfão de mãe, passando a morar com a avó em Juiz de Fora, em Minas Gerais. Com seis anos foi morar em Três Pontas com os pais adotivos, o bancário e professor de Matemática Josino Campos e a professora de Música Lília Campos.

Com 13 anos ganhou seu primeiro violão. Aos 15 anos, Milton criou com Wagner Tiso, seu amigo de infância, o grupo vocal Som Imaginário. Logo depois criaram o W’s Boys, com Milton, Wagner, e seus irmãos Wesley e Wanderley. O grupo se apresentava nos bailes da região.

Em 1963, Milton mudou-se para Belo Horizonte, para fazer o vestibular para Economia, mas a música predominou. Na época, formou com Lô Borges, Beto Guedes, Márcio Borges e Fernando Brant, o Clube da Esquina.

Em 1966 foi para São Paulo, mas estava difícil conseguir que suas músicas fossem gravadas. A sorte começou a mudar em setembro desse mesmo ano, quando conheceu Elis Regina, que gravou “Canção do Sal”, sua primeira música.

Em 1967, Milton Nascimento teve três músicas classificadas no Festival Internacional da Canção da TV Globo, que consagrou o cantor como o melhor intérprete, e a música “Travessia”, composta em parceria com Fernando Brant, conquistou o segundo lugar no festival.

As outras duas canções classificadas foram “Maria, Minha Fé” e “Morro Velho” que ficou em sétimo lugar. Nesse mesmo ano lançou seu primeiro disco solo e realizou diversos shows.

Em 1968, deu início à sua carreira internacional, excursionando pelos Estados Unidos, onde gravou o disco “Courage”. Em 1972 lançou, junto com Lô Borges, o álbum “Clube da Esquina”.

Com o sucesso, Milton gravou com Wayne Shorter e Sarah Vaughn e, em 1994, em “Angelus”, reuniu vários convidados internacionais, como o ex-vocalista do grupo inglês Yes, John Anderson.

Com uma longa carreira, Milton lançou diversos álbuns e conquistou vários prêmios, entre eles, quatro Grammy. Seu nome esteve diversas vezes na lista dos melhores das publicações “Down Beat” e “Billboard".

Milton Nascimento was born in Rio de Janeiro, on October 26, 1942. As a child he already showed interest in music. When he was two years old, he lost his mother, and started to live with his grandmother in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. At the age of six, he went to live in Três Pontas with his adoptive parents, banker and Mathematics teacher Josino Campos and Music teacher Lília Campos.

At the age of 13 he got his first guitar. At age 15, Milton created with Wagner Tiso, his childhood friend, the vocal group Som Imaginário. Soon after, they created W’s Boys, with Milton, Wagner, and their brothers Wesley and Wanderley. The group performed at dances in the region.

In 1963, Milton moved to Belo Horizonte to take the entrance exam for Economics, but music predominated. At the time, he formed the Clube da Esquina with Lô Borges, Beto Guedes, Márcio Borges and Fernando Brant.

In 1966 he went to São Paulo, but it was difficult to get his songs recorded. Luck began to change in September of that same year, when he met Elis Regina, who recorded “Canção do Sal”, his first song.

In 1967, Milton Nascimento had three songs classified at TV Globo's International Song Festival, which consecrated the singer as the best performer, and the song “Travessia”, composed in partnership with Fernando Brant, won second place at the festival.

The other two classified songs were “Maria, Minha Fé” and “Morro Velho” which came in seventh. That same year he released his first solo album and performed several shows.

In 1968, he started his international career, touring the United States, where he recorded the album “Courage”. In 1972 he released, together with Lô Borges, the album “Clube da Esquina”.

With the success, Milton recorded with Wayne Shorter and Sarah Vaughn and, in 1994, in “Angelus”, he brought together several international guests, such as the ex-vocalist of the English group Yes, John Anderson.

With a long career, Milton has released several albums and won several awards, including four Grammys. His name was several times on the list of the best publications "Down Beat" and "Billboard".
